While the team is hardly a lock for the playoffs, it is still in the driver’s seat for the first round. This hasn’t deterred the club’s young guns, who have rolled through the league’s top tier teams with flying colors. As the club moves on to the final round of the playoffs, Slavin has been an integral part of the Hurricanes’ rebuild. Hopefully, this will be the springboard that finally snags him a spot on the NHL’s big club.
While the Hurricanes have yet to claim a berth in the Western Conference finals, Jaccob Slavin has a chance at claiming a ring in the near future. Slavin is a solid candidate for a long term deal and is a major reason the Hurricanes have been able to play like a well oiled machine. As a result, the team is in prime position to take a run at the Western Conference crown. For the first time in many seasons, the Hurricanes will be in the hunt for the title of NHL’s best. It will be a close race, but with the requisite oomph factor, the team is set up for success. Besides, a resurgent Carolina would be a welcome sight for the area’s economy. During the off season, the Hurricanes made a series of moves to upgrade their blueshirts, most notably adding a second goalie in Corey Schneider and a veteran center in Brad Stuart. With a roster full of seasoned veterans, the club’s young guns should be able to sustain their level of play and continue to improve the club’s bottom line.
Value of his versatility

On July 4, Carolina acquired a veteran forward and a pending free agent from the Vegas Golden Knights, and on June 22, they nabbed goaltender Scott Darling from Chicago. In addition to a new contract, Slavin also won a coveted spot on the team’s top defensive pairings. He is likely to be joined by fellow draftee Mackenzie MacEachern. This is the second time Slavin has received a lucrative deal from Carolina in less than a year.

Stanley Cup odds
Despite a solid season, Jaccob Slavin’s jersey elite Stanley Cup odds are not looking good. The defenseman is not putting up elite numbers like he did last season, when he scored 42 points in 58 games. He is currently averaging less than six points per game, and his average ice time is the lowest of his career. Until he gets his offense on track, he’s best off on the fantasy bench.
As far as playoff predictions go, Jaccob Slavin will be an important part of the Carolina Hurricanes’ postseason run. He will have plenty of ice time, but his offensive production may drop. That’s because he’s playing with an offensively-impressive DeAngelo.
The Carolina Canes opened this season with a +950 betting line to win the Stanley Cup, but shortened their odds to +750 this week. They lost a number of key players in the offseason, including Vincent Trocheck, Nino Neiderreiter, and Tony DeAngelo. They also traded away top scorer MacKenzie Weegar.
They lost another key player in Nazem Kadri, who signed with Seattle. They’ve also traded away their first-round pick in 2025. The team’s performance and injuries will influence futures odds.
The New York Rangers are a long shot to win the Stanley Cup in 2023. They’re a team that has plenty of youth on their roster. They also have one of the most talented goaltenders in the league in Igor Shesterkin. But their goal differential was the second worst in the NHL. They’re still going to need a strong defense, but it’s unlikely they’ll win a playoff series on their own.
The Los Angeles Kings are a surprise playoff contender this year. They’re currently 16th in the standings, and advanced metrics have them ranked as a legitimate top-10 team. They’re a team that’s expected to be better than last year, but they don’t feel like a Stanley Cup-winning team.
